Crowdfunding
de la FAL
Fundacion Anselmo Lorenzo (FAL) are calling its most ambitious crowdfunding campaign yet in order to complete our curatorial work on all materials from after 1939.
Growing with you
Our archive holds, among many other elements, documents, posters, photographs, footage and audio recordings from the Spanish Civil War and Revolution, the decades of exile at the end of that conflict and the so-called Transition, once Franco died . It’s a huge collection of 6,000 posters, more than 5,000 regular publications, spanning from the end of the 19th century to the present day, together with a media archive and a specialised library with tens of thousands of items. It truly is a treasure that makes FAL one of the largest anarchist archives in the world.
Our collection is an essential tool for researchers in the history of the working class and anarchist movements and we regularly support their investigations by advising them on the elements available, facilitating access, retrieving documents, etc. We have answered 440 research enquiries in 2020 alone and 123 requests from members of the public looking for information on relatives who were members of CNT or had links to the anarchist movement.
As you can see, our work on the archive (locating and acquiring records and documents, filing, cataloguing, storing, preserving and digitising them) serves the very real purpose of keeping our memory and history alive. It is worth noting that all this work is done without state subsidies or aid of any kind.

Rewards
Up to now, we have focussed our efforts on the elements in the collection from the workers’ and anarchist movements before 1939. But there is still a lot to do to preserve, catalogue and improve access to those after that date: exile, Transition and the present day.
That’s why we’re asking for your collaboration, to help carry our project, your project, forward.
